Myrica Pay is a digital financial platform headquartered in Freetown, Sierra Leone. We exist because financial borders are real — and they cost people too much. We are here to change that.

Who We Are

We are a licensed digital financial services company, regulated by the Bank of Sierra Leone, building the infrastructure for faster, fairer, and more transparent money movement across West Africa and beyond. We started in Sierra Leone because that is where we are from and where the need is immediate. We are expanding because the problem is not contained to one country.

Myrica Pay is not a product built somewhere else and adapted for Africa. It is built here, for here — and designed from the beginning to serve the way West Africans actually live, transact, and connect with the world.

Transfers that should be instant take days. Business payments that should be seamless require multiple intermediaries. The infrastructure exists to do this better. We built it.

The Access

Millions of West Africans remain outside formal financial systems — not because they do not need financial services, but because the services have not been built for them. Our agent network exists to close that gap.

Our Story

Myrica Pay was founded in 2025 in Freetown. The founding insight was straightforward: West Africa has real, sophisticated financial needs — paying for education abroad, settling with international suppliers, receiving payment for services, sending and receiving value across borders — and the platforms available to meet those needs have historically treated West Africa as an afterthought.

Our founder experienced this directly. Paying for software. Settling with a supplier. Moving money internationally. The barriers were not lack of money — they were lack of infrastructure that treated the transaction honestly and the customer with dignity. The "Digital Border" was real, and it had a cost. Myrica Pay was built to remove it.

We built a digital wallet that works the way a wallet should. We built cross-border transfer infrastructure that shows the full fee, the live exchange rate, and the exact amount the recipient receives — before you confirm, not buried in the fine print after. We built a verified agent network so that digital finance reaches communities that do not have a bank branch nearby. And we built it under full regulatory oversight because trust is not something you add later.

We are operating in Sierra Leone and building toward The Gambia, Liberia, and Guinea. Our compliance programme, our technology, and our regulatory relationships are designed for multi-country operation from day one — not patched together as we grow.

Myrica Pay holds a licence from the Bank of Sierra Leone. We operate under BSL regulatory supervision and maintain the compliance standards — AML/CTF, KYC, consumer protection — that regulated financial services require. We are expanding into additional markets through the proper regulatory processes in each jurisdiction.

Transparent Pricing, Always

Our fee on transactions is 1%. It is shown before you confirm. We do not add hidden charges or adjust exchange rates to recover costs we did not disclose. The amount you see sent is the amount that moves.

Your Money, Protected

Customer wallet balances are held in segregated custodial accounts, separate from Myrica Pay's operating funds. Your money is never at risk from our business operations.

Security You Can Trust

Your account is protected by PIN, biometric authentication, and optional two-factor authentication. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Our KYC process uses industry-leading biometric verification to protect you and the platform from fraud.
